LOTR role play?

This would be a LOTR role play based on the novels by JRR Tolken.

Every person would choose a place on the LOTR map and choose a race consisting of:

- elves

- men of gondor

- men of rohan

- ents

- hobbits

- dwarfs

- eagles

- easterlings

- haradrium

- causars

- trolls

- orcs

- uruk-hai

- spiders

- goblins

- we can't have any dragons or foul beasts or demons because they are too powerful.

And each race would have a hero, for example a race of elves could have the hero Arwen to lead them.

It would be a battle type role play.

I've got plenty more where that came from.

Also, looking at your list of races, I believe that uruuks mean Uruk-hai, who I think are a type of orc. I'm not 100% certain, but want to appear nerdy anyway.

Thanks for that, I knew I had wrote it incorrectly. And your quite right about Uruk-hai being a type of orc.

I'd quite like to play the men, but since the forces of Mordor have been split up so much wouldn't it make sense to split up the races of men, at least into Gondor and Rohan for instance?

BTW - LOTR Online is moving to 'free play' this fall. Maybe somehow the game could be tied with this RP at that point ?

Would you guys prefer to play LOTR Online and then write about what happens in it as a role play or would you prefer to just keep it a normal role play?

It'd be too expensive to use LOTRO at the moment, $14/month plus buying the software. If you want to wait till it moves to free play, then that would be a decent idea.

FYI...... I recieved an invitation to the LOTR Online free play closed beta today.....

Maybe, a character based role play would be better than a faction based?

I think you could make up to five characters, and they would all have to be on one of the sides. Good or bad?
